Dear all,

Period 12 of the national hand hygiene audit takes place between Oct 1st to 31st with results to be submitted by Nov 30th . Please note the following:

•Latest data collection forms are available on HPSC website
•Latest Excel file is on HPSC website as version v3.4. Please keep the order and the names of wards of the Audit areas sheet the same as in previous audits
•The seed number is 3603 – this is necessary to provide a degree of confidence in the process which should be as transparent as possible
Please use the MS Excel tool when submitting results and either upload directly to MicroB on https://microb.hpsc.vpn OR in case you are not able to please send the completed tool back to me. Online help: a starter help page is available for existing and new users of MicroB. The results for period 11 are published on the HPSC website.
Note that the MS Excel tool must be completed as per instructions found on the tool itself. If a commercial app is used to help with the audit, then please ensure the vendor has contacted HPSC prior to commencement in order to facilitate direct data submission and proper completion of the tool.
I would be grateful if you could please pass this message on to those individuals in your hospital who may need to see it. I sent a message recently to ask lead auditors to get in touch with our colleague at HPSC, Margaret McIver with their contact details. If you haven’t done so already please respond back to her as soon as possible or if you haven’t received a message from her, then please let me know urgently.
