We only treat bronchoscopy procedures as AGP and take additional precautions.

We are fortunate that we have four new endoscopy suites with good space and 15 air changes per hour so this helps with staff anxieties.

I have a query re OGD procedures;

Are any endoscopy units testing their OGD patients for covid-19 prior to their OGD and are endoscopy units considering OGDs as aerosol generating procedures and selecting PPE accordingly, i.e FFP masks.

I’m not in the community setting but yes the public do expect staff to wear masks. We advise all patients coming into hospital to wear a mask and all our clinical staff AND staff in clinical areas wear masks such as IT persons fixing computers, facilities etc.
